Wounded in Action coffee table book
Wounded in Action: An Art Exhibition of Orthopaedic Advances was a tribute to injured troops and their families, injured civilians, and the orthopaedic surgeons who cared for them. This was a proposed design for the companion book.
The idea of printing the cover with three different backgrounds was proposed, to go along with the red, white and blue theme of the interior layout.

Title page spread and Table of Contents page spreads.
Red, white and blue were a natural choice for the book’s three main sections, which featured artwork by wounded soldiers, the doctors who attended to them, and civilians.
Artwork was listed by artist name in the left column and by title in the right column

The spreads that divided the sections featured close-up details of works from within the corresponding section.

The pages were designed so that the artwork could be easily viewed when flipping through the book. The layout needed to be fluid enough to allow for the various sizes and types of media, while still presenting the corresponding information in an organized grid.
